The YF-19: Green Screen

While modelling the inside of the cockpit, I started playing around with the concept of treating it like a green screen. Then, once rendered, I would chroma the whole thing and project the rendered background, separately, and then composite it so it seems that the background is showing up on the screens as a seamless effect

I did this quick render while pondering about it. Would it look cheap? maybe my issue with this approach is that it not only would look cheap, but unrealistic. The screens are projecting the background from the pilot’s point of view, but if the pilot moved his head around the cockpit, back and forth, or sideways, would the screens project that adjustment back to him so it still seems seamless? Or would you see a slight change in the background, like a glass refraction effect on the clouds around you?

Yup, that’s the sort of philosophical questions one gets when modelling a fictional anime plane cockpit. Anyway….
