The YF-19: Gears of War

Hello and happy 2015!

I haven’t been slacking off (though I did go away on holidays and had a great time!), I’ve been learning rigging in Blender these days. The process goes like this:

  1.  Video on Youtube teaches how to rig something.
  2.  Rig something as well, it works.
  3.  Decide I already know how to, so I open the YF-19 file and try it with the landing gear.
  4.  Screw up. I look for ways to fix it. They don’t work either.
  5.  Restart Blender without saving, go back to doing the rigging as the video shows.
  6.  It works again. Ok.
  7.  Try on the YF-19 file again. For some reason, it works now. I didn’t do anything different.
  8. Blame it on space goblins.

This could be considered my first Blender animation, too!

About Eduardo

I'm some dude with a huge love for animation and film. I've been working in TV animation for the past 6 years in New Zealand. I love dragons, pointy metal things that can cut dragons, and flight simulators.

When in doubt, blame the space goblins. Goes for any life situation!
